Why do eldritch abominations care about humanity. Why do they reach out, they does their power touch us so.
One explanation is that they are a hobby for some creatures. The same way we care for ants and watching them in farms. We capture them and put them in glass containers. Countless people don't care and live their lives without caring but some do and those few would be the gods of those little ants.
I think the same thing could be said for us. If we are analogous to ants, then the creatures that watch us would be monstrous. An ant can't relate to the concept of enjoying something or learning or any human emotion. They don't have the machinery to do so. Like them we lack the machinery to understand the motivations of monsters.
They exist and they love us.
