Bullet Train

movies

I watched Bullet Train before, but I think I liked it way more on my second viewing. Not to say I didn't enjoy the movie the first time.

It's in a weird space where I like the movie but I would only rate it 2/5. It's not a good movie but a fun movie.

I enjoyed the world that built up, it reminded me of John Wick where there seem to be so much going on in the background. It was also a bottle episode so that was comforting.

The plot is that a Russian ends up in Japan and takes over a crime family. He expands his criminal operations across the world and eventually someone orders a hit on him.

Circumstances make it so the White Death is in Bolivia while his wife dies in his place.

He truly loves his wife. They had a druggie failure of a son who had ended up in some trouble and his wife was on his way to bail him out. That is when Carver the assasin kills her.

This moment then sets up the movie.

His wife gets into an accident thanks to carver, the surgeon that could save her life was killed by the Hornet. The White Death was in Bolivia beacuse the twins had slaughtered his operation. His revenge was going to be to make all the people that contributed to his wife's death kill each other.

The hiccup is that Carver calls out sick and so Brad Pitt ends up in the situation.

The wolf ends up at thet train looking for the hornet for his own revenge story. The prince is the daughter of the White Death looking for her father's approval. The Father and the Elder are only there because the Prince was using them to get close to the white death.

It was a fun movie with all the characters and side characters. It remindmed me of a poor man's Guy Ritchie movie. I would have liked both of the twins to survive but everyone's death was entertaining.

I could seel Bullet Train getting a sequel ala Knives Out style.
