Reading Short Stories

2023-01-17

I read The Lottery by Shirley Jackson which was quite evocative and gave me nostalgia for a time I didn't live. I love it, a small town going through something maddening.

I also read The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell. Great story and one that the title gave away. This is because it is so embedded in our culture now that I think the shock of the story is a bit muted.

Both stories are great and I really want to make something related to them or even retell. I think there is something quite magical about these 2 stories.

I'll need to re-read them knowing the endings and I imagine there will be things I pick up.
